LOCATION
Location
Colombia - Antioquia
Colombia is an OECD member country with a growing economy, and one of the lowest inflation rates in Latin America
The Aurum Mine Proyect is located in the western part of Antioquia in the La Antigua hamlet of the Abriaquí municipality, between titles T823005 and HHOJ-01, covering an area of 100,001 and 62,8904 hectares, respectively.
Access to the mine is from the city of Medellín to the municipality of Frontino, a distance of 85 km, translating to a 3.5-hour journey. From Frontino to the mine, it is a 17 km drive on an unpaved road.
Currently, the mine has tunnel lengths totaling 1600 m, divided into two tunnels with surface exits, and the depth from the tunnel with the lowest elevation is 45 m.
By the end of 2024, the mine is projected to have a production capacity of 130 tons/day, initiating a conventional exploitation system using drills, pneumatic shovels, a drag winch, and an electric locomotive. There are plans to double this capacity in the following year with a mechanized exploitation system.
For the conventional system, drilling will use 38 mm diameter drills with 1.81 m long rods, achieving 90% efficiency for both the operator and advance by blasting, with a final advance of 1.46 m. The types of preparation and exploitation works include galleries (1.9 m x 2.2 m), drums (2.4 m x 1.2 m), main sublevel (0.9 m x 2 m), and sublevel cuts (15 m x 0.9 m). For these tasks, advancement will be done by cut-and-fill, meaning the first blast in ore and the second in waste rock, using the latter as backfill.
Gallery cleaning will be done using pneumatic shovels, and in other areas, a shovel and rake operated by a winch will be used, with the material deposited in hoppers at the beginning of drums. From this point, haulage will be carried out in 40 ft³ wagons powered by a battery-operated electric locomotive to the surface. In the depth phase, the first hauling phase will be done using a skip with a capacity of 1.1 tons, powered by a 40 hp winch.
The mine will have trained personnel for various needs, including service assistants, drillers, timbermen, civil works officials, and operators.
Due to its proximity to the Buriticá deposit, a high geological potential is estimated, directly influencing the growth and production of the mine.
OUR DISTRICT
The mining titles are in the Buriticá gold district in the middle belt of the Cauca River in the north-western region of Colombia. The district has resources with growth potential and a unique combination of size, quality, direct metallurgy, and infrastructure. Area has a particular combination of size, quality, direct metallurgy, excellent infrastructure and growth potential.
It is estimated to have an approximate potential to double gold actual production in Colombia. It has a potential reserve of approximately 5 million ounces of gold in one of its veins and estimated reserves at today’s prices of more than 9 BIllion dollars.
